FAQs
I need a stair, what is the process?
As a staircase manufacturer we can supply you a new staircase to meet building regulations, our staircases range from standard fit for purpose softwood stairs to beautiful statement staircases made from oak.
Do you offer a measuring service?
Of course, we would usually advise emailing or popping into our workshop in the Kelham Island area of Sheffield with some architects plans for an estimation.
If you are happy with this estimate and want to proceed with your order, we would visit site or your home to measure the staircase ready for manufacturing and take deposit payment.
I need a regular staircase manufacturer to supply our staircases, is this something you can do?
Absolutely! most of our custom over the last 35 years has been predominately serving loft conversion companies across South Yorkshire, most loft conversion companies trust us time and time again to supply their staircases monthly sometimes even weekly! they know they can trust us for a quick smooth order and supply of their staircases.
When Can I expect delivery of my new Staircase?
Delivery can be as quick as a couple of days for a standard softwood staircase! we would advise giving our team a call when you are ready, and we will advise – timescales change weekly due to workload.
Do you fit?
Currently we do not offer a make and fit service – so i need a fitter? yes, we would advise you contacting a local site joiner who can fit staircases and we will work with your nominated site joiner to manufacture your new staircase for them to fit.
What are your standard staircase materials?
Our standard specification for a standard softwood staircase would be:
Redwood Pine (furniture grade softwood) – this is used for the strings of your staircase (sides) we pride ourselves on using this timber as it is much better-quality wood.
MDF – we would usually use MDF or Plywood for your staircase’s risers & Kites.
Softwood Pine – we would use pine newel posts and softwood treads.
We manufacture a range of staircases using different timbers, if you are requiring a specific timber, please let us know.
The timber we use comes from timber manufactures who are FSC members, you can read more about FSC certification here : https://www.fsc-uk.org/en-uk/about-fsc/what-is-fsc or by viewing this quick video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzFFgh7Hf5Q
Payment?
Most frequently we would take a 30% deposit to start manufacturing and the remaining 70% balance due on dispatch once your staircase is ready for delivery.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we offer a delivery service as well as a collection service.
